Ph has been my bane since setting this tank up, everything else is in line but my ph, any ideas?
It is located in a bedroom, it has a cieling fan, and ocassionally a housefan on it. A ph buffer works, but only for a few hours and it climbs back down. My apex, API and another red sea test kits all reading the same.
This is a great article on ph from reefkeeping mag. Might want to scroll down to "Solving PH problems". It helped me with my 90g couple years back. In my case, all I had to do was add a couple house plants and leave my window open to get fresh oxygen in the room.

nice article! I will try and open the windows a little more often, I am in the desert and it does get rather warm! and maybe spruce up the room with some plants, and add a couple of small fans to blow on the surface.
But is calibrated correctly? How old is the probe? They are only good (accurate) for about a year to a year and a half. Also if you don't calibrate every 6-8 weeks you have false readings. Don't worry about pH unless its under 7.8 or over 8.4. Don't chase numbers.
Justice sure you have enough oxygen in your sump area and that there is oxygen exchange via power head pumps piercing the surface of your tank or crashing down your drain into the sump. Without that exchange it's hard for your tank to have better ph.
