Changed tanks few months ago from a 90 to a 120gal. Used New sand but everything else was from the 90 and tank still mini cycled.
So I'm now seeing the Lil red strings and mini bubbles. Is this ugly stage/normal or should I be taking extra actions?
My ro is 2 ppm so ordered all new media 4 that and bought 200 worth of cuc.
Once filters arrive will do a WC

I don't see little bubbles in my cyano, usually just a mat of deep crimson red. Just make sure it is not dino, which does have bubbles and more brownish red.

Chemiclean will only work on cyano, not dino.

The easiest way to see if it is cyano or not is to look at it's size when the lights come on, and when they go off everyday. If it gets smaller and larger it is probably cyano. Also cyano will usually blow off easily while other nuisance algae will not.

Cyano is fairly common and is often a sign of a non efficient flow pattern of the tank causing detritus to accumulate where it is not broken down by filtration.

I would try increasing your water movement, or at least messing with it first.

If the tank is not stocked with any SPS coral 72 hours of no light in the tank at all (wrap it up in a dark blanket and leave the lights off, skimmer going) will kill cyano. It will also easily come back if the conditions are not fixed. It will require some attention though. It is one of the oldest living organisms on Earth, it is pretty resilient.
