Visited reef raft a few days ago. Wow. I saw some of the most extraordinary sps that I have ever seen. I took some iPhone pictures but they were too goofy to post and I did not think to bring my real camera with me. Whether or not some of the high end corals fit into a budget, the experience made me feel like a kid on a field trip. Mind boggling colors. Acropora that I have just never seen before in person. Definitely worth a field trip.

There seem to be a flood of spectacular colored coral coming onto the market and we are really fortunate to have some of the best stores in the country right here in Southern California. I shop at lots of them, and each and every one of them has a lot to offer. Fun time to be into reefing.

Hope yours makes it. Mine dies after a few days, refused to eat. The guy at the shop swore he had been eating. He repeatedly spit out the food and starved :(

I have to chime in too. Tony is always good to deal with, he has a budget that will fit everyone. And now that he's not affiliated with RR Asia and releasing awesome corals shows you , he's still a boss when it comes to sick acros.
Enough said.

I have to agree with Mark I went by on my way back from Kyles Saturday to check it out as I hadn't been there in a while. Yes the corals are high end and mostly way out of my reef budget... but holy cow the corals were amazing! That wolverine acro was suuuuuper sick... so if anyone doesn't think they look like that in person, they do I saw it with my own peepers. And that other coral that all the drama on R2R was about looked exactly like the picture... no clue what kind of coral but it really was wysiwyg.

Tony hooked me up with a deal on a zoa frag so I didn't leave empty handed.

That is possible, fish stress for many reasons and don't eat.

Fish do stress, but it was a double whammy because the the gold tip frogspawn I got as well died in 1 day. And all my params are in order. I have a ton of euphyllia on the tank. I'm not trying to totally slam the shop, I was just really bummed that both things I bought died right off the bat. $120 is a lot for me to drop on 1 fish and 1 coral.

Although his prices are high, I would just call Tony and let him know he will probably make it right and hook you up with something else. It wouldn't hurt to ask anyway. Sucks though that happened to you Blaire I feel you pain.

did you acclimate them and qt it before letting it go into your DT? I found that acclimating and qt the fish first gives them the best chance of surviving that's why I got an aclimation box from marine depot....the fish I buy from Tongs survived better when I bought the acclimation box.....
