Nice start. Don't waste too much money because you will upgrade soon. And buy used. Not new. Looks like you already spent couple dollars on that set up. Welcome.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I've spent about $350 so far and that's including all related supplies like the salt, jugs, sand, live rock etc. I think the light was the most expensive at $140. I had seen a nano 22g for $150 with all related equipment but it sold by the time I contacted the seller.

I have a question I set the tank up on 6/2/14 with the live rock and live sand when can I expect to see the spike in my water levels, I have been testing every other day and so far I got ph 8.2/ Ammonia 0ppm/ Nitrate 0ppm/ Nitrite 0ppm

UPDATE

06/12/14

So I came home today and found my whole tanks glass covered in these white specs and a few bigger ones which I believe are copepods. I also notice what I think is some algae growing on only one of my live rocks which is a small piece under the little cave. So I'm I on the right track here?

Here are the pics my cell phone could not focus on the bigger white specks.

Welcome and nice nano tank.. If you are concern about algae leave your light off. Let nature take it course. Once you system is ready then that's the time u can turn it back on.. Don't trust that $5 fusion temp. I have one and end up using for 5 days. It's 3 degrees off. If I were you return it and get the tube kind of temp for $2-3 coz I have good luck with it.

Happy reefing.

Get some Dr.Tims One and Only Live Nitrifying Bacteria and you wont have to wait to add anything.

I have both themp gauges and it seems to be off by 1, I do leave the light off all the time I only turned them on for the pics. The reason I asked about the algae is because I read on here that when your cycle is almost done you will see a small algae bloom and then it will die off on its own.

I thought about using Dr.Tim's, I do have Api Quick Start but Idk if I should add it.

I was going to get a skimmer but I seen other people have success without a skimmer who are 20g and less as long as I do weekly water changes. When I do upgrade to a 40-60g I will be getting a skimmer.

UPDATE

6/21/14

came home to find one of my clowns dead getting eaten by my hermit crab, I think he was sick when I bought him because when I would feed he would not touch the food at all the other clown is happy as can be, I tested my water and all parameters are perfect so that's how I came to that conclusion.

my green fungi was flipped over, I did not putty it down so hermit crab must have flipped it. I did see some damage on the green fungi will post pictures.
