Some suggestions:

Put the fungi on the sand bed. It won't make it on the rock. When it inflates, the rock can cut it's tissue. You don't want to epoxy it to anything.

I agree on the skimmer, not necessary as long as you do 5 gallon water changes once a week.

See if you can put your heater in the filter, so it is not in your display.

You should quarantine your livestock to hopefully eliminate introducing parasites into the system.

Get a grounding probe to eliminate stray voltage.

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum. I saw the first post on 06/07/14 and the last post is 06/21/14. That is like 2 weeks so the tank is basically brand new and might not be even cycled yet. I'm not sure it is a good idea to put fish and specially an anemone to a new tank like that

UPDATE

6/21/14

came home to find one of my clowns dead getting eaten by my hermit crab, I think he was sick when I bought him because when I would feed he would not touch the food at all the other clown is happy as can be, I tested my water and all parameters are perfect so that's how I came to that conclusion.

my green fungi was flipped over, I did not putty it down so hermit crab must have flipped it. I did see some damage on the green fungi will post pictures.
It happens but have you been checking your ammonia still? Any change? Might still be cycling.

Also did you acclimate the fish to your tank. I would suggest some research on allcating techniques. LFS water is usually lower in. Salinity than tanks at home and need longer acclimation time.

I moved the green fungi to the sand bed already seems it was the smartest thing to do, I don't have a QT tank yet but I think I will be getting one soon before I add anymore fish. The heater doesn't fit in the filter but I doesn't bother me to much. I will look into that grounding plug.

I think I mentioned it on one of my post I started my tank on 06/02/14 but I should add that to my first post. The tank has cycled I used API quick start and have been checking my water daily to see if the parameters change but they have been good since I finished the cycle.

The way I acclimated the fish was leave the bag in the tank for 25 minutes then I used the net to pull him out and placed him in the tank. I know there are other techniques now after looking at some videos on YouTube. It could have been the salinity level, because I got one of the clowns from their coral tank and the other which died from the regular tank where they only keep fish. I will have to ask them if the salinity level is different on each tank. I did notice one of the blue tangs was dying in the fish only tank. Maybe that should have been a clue. I will have to do more research.

Thanks for all the great feedback guys, I'm learning everyday just trying to absorb all this info.

Update

So over the last week I added some more corals. I got a green hammer with 2 heads and a 2inch frag of Jedi Mind Trick when I was in Santa Barbara last Sunday. Then on Wednesday I got what I think is called a Yuma can anyone confirm and some Zoo's Idk what kind either

I had also moved my Green Fungia Plate to the sand bed and everything has been going good but today I got home and I noticed another tear on it, I think my hermit crab are crawling all over it because I don't have that much space on the sand bed because of my aquascape. If anyone is interested in a trade let me know on to the pics

Sorry for the crappy phone pics

Saw you acclimation notes. I would recommend drip acclimation for 1-3 hours, depending on the livestock. One hour min for fish, 2 hours min for shrimp as their more sensitive . Use a small air hose, start the syphon then tie a knot so it drips 1 drop/ two seconds into ur fish bag in a bucket below the tank. This should help relieve stress for new inhabitants. Good call on not dumping in the fish store water, some fish only tanks can have copper dosing for parasites which never does well for corals or inverts.

In regards to dosing, only dose what you test for. I use kent purple tech to increase calcium and trace elements a few times a month.

Update 07/14/14

So a few things have changed since i last updated, i took a small Vacation for the 4th of July Weekend left my dad in charge of the tank well he didn't do such a good Job :tsk: I have no chiller so i use some clip on fans to keep the tank cool well he never turned them back on after that friday night, he also never turned the lights back on after that night as well. I got home on Monday Night to find all the Windows in my house closed, fans & lights off and my tank temp was at 87F, I quickly discovered my Yuma was not doing well at all was white and shrunk all the way down, a few crab were dead, my green fungia plate was in even worse shape then when i left. I grabbed some iced bottles of water i keep in the freezer and put them in the tank. i was able to get the temp down to 80F in about 2 hours and picked out all the dead crab out of the tank.

I ended up giving the Green Fungia Plate to a friend and my yuma didn't make it.

I did pick up a Bubble Tip Anemone and my Clown was Hosting it within 2 days everything else seems to be doing ok in my tank. I also ordered the Red Sea Foundation Test Kit, Red Sea A B C Dosing Kit and the Ecoxotic LED controller as i could not find a used one. well here are some pics of my Clown Hosting the Anemone.

and also thanks SoCalNano for tips

That's rough. You should consider slowing down on getting new things until your tank is more stable. Most recommend 6 months minimum of a tank setup prior to getting an anemone. Maybe do research or talk to folks before buying. ;)

Also a surge/timer will help out w most of your lighting/fan issues.
