did you not look at it at all and assumed it was perfect? scratches are usually less visible when wet. so you should've been able to see it. so unless Riley is a chick and you were busy staring at her tits. I say no one is going to have your back on this.
Interesting... Man boobs?
Sucks your not happy with the tank but that is the chance you take when purchasing used items. I have sold Rieley a few things and I think I bought some coral from him. Seemed like a good kid. I haven't had much problems with scratches in a glass tank I'm not sure what you do to fix them. If there is a spot where you see newer silicone on a tank it doesn't always mean it had a leak. Some people put silicone on a spot they think looks weaker. If it doesn't leak and looks sealed I wouldn't worry to much about it. But it's always a good idea to carefully inspect items when buying them second hand
LOL..I agreed. Always inspect when buying anything used or new especially used. Once money changed hands you owned it now. I bought a bunch of stuffs from him a few months ago. Everything is great for the prices.
Yeah but I would say its also dishonest to misrepresent something that is for sale. I guess its possible that the seller wasn't aware or the tank was scratched after emptied... highly unlikely but possible.
I just did a search for the word "scratches" by rileysreef and came up with nothing. Even though it really is only your responsibility to check for them before buying the tank, what is the link to the thread where you bought the tank and he stated no scratches?
I agree with andy, I have dealt with darrell a few times. Good guy. Can't say the same thing about the op on the other hand. Not only from what other members have told me about him but from my own personal interactions with him. Lets put it this way, whenever I post a for sale thread and he hits me up, which seems to always be the case, I always make sure to ignore ; )
I just wanted to comment so people know we're not talking about Me. Just had to clarify because our names are so similar.

i'm into stained glass now...

I tried to look for the conversation we had when he told me it was "pratically new" but it was months ago, till the stand was made and filled etc, When your gullible and trust someone else that has a good rep, so I trusted him, he did live 3-4 hours from where I lived so when I got to his place there was not much light to check the tank, and like I said by the time I setup the tank it was already to late

But yes, It is my fault for not thoroughly checking to make sure its up to par for my likings

its good to know that I do have haters "tangwich" I never met you but by the way you type your comments you must have something against me

Is this the same tank you posted here? (Starting on post #66) If it is then looks like you had plenty of time from November 15th until now to review. Not calling anyone out per se nor takign side since I don't know buyer/seller but just curious why anyone would even bother posting a review on a tank purchase that happened over 3 months ago and the tank appears to be already up and running since then. Just sayin

Reading all those comments above and you still don't get it. And I certainly don't have time to teach you so I will leave it at that. Just please don't contact me when I sell anything. Thanks.

i think it should be legal... they're only birds, and they don't always die... i have friends that show chickens and are huge chicken people... and they go watch the chicken fights too... just that these PC people are so insane... you can watch two humans beat their brains to a pulp, but two idiotic chickens going at it... it's inhumane...??? life is so messed up... i'm starting to realize that human lives don't matter as much as people say they do... you can now get arrested and go to jail for starving a child, but if you starve your kid, you get food stamps, and a social worker to help you out with your parenting... it's so backwards... dogs have more rights than kids do...

Yes that is the one, I did not know socal had a review section till now. Shouldn't have stick my head in this section from the get go

But seeing the bottoms pane silicone white, long streaks of bubbles inside the seam along the left glass and looking through the cloudy front pane sucks

More noticeable be said you went bare bottom. Throw some more sand in there and problem solved. Or just wait for the coralline to grow over and covers it all.

All Leemar tanks have the thick clear silicone at the bottom.

That is actually a good silicone job, it does not look resealed to me.
I did not know they sealed the bottom pane like that, what is your opinion about the air bubbles on the sides in the other 2 photos?

Mods I feel like this thread should not have been made on my part, please close

Yeah was gonna say that looks pretty clean to me. Sucks about the scratches Bobby.

That being said I picked up my AA sump from him, same FS thread and it was in the exact condition described. Still wrapped and brand new.

Everyone's opinion on what a clean tank looks like varies so you always gotta unwrap it and check it out. Bring a flash light day or night to look at the silicone job.

Yes, the bubbles are typical of Leemar too. The bubbles on your tank don't look bad and I've seen way worse that Leemar refused to repair because they says it was not a structural concern. They say this is a normal part of the curing process and these bubbles sometimes show up months after the tank is manufactured. If you search bubbles in Leemar silicone on ReefCentral you'll likely fine dozens of threads.
