Run time???

Hey everyone,

I have a new WM AS 150 and don't know what is a respectable amount of time needed to have to skimmer on for. So, I am doing a short survey to see how long do you have your skimmer on for??? I know having it on for 24/7 is sometimes not good because it skimmer out good nutrients. LMK what you think.

I don't know where the idea came from to only run a skimmer part of the day... You WANT it to take stuff out. It's not hard to put "nutrients" back into your tank.

+1 I run mine 24/7, only time it's off is when i clean it...

At any given time it will just start producing. You wouldn't want it off for one of those times.

I would run it 24/7 but if I had to choose I would run it at night so it can also help with the oxygen level. The oxygen level runs lower at night.

i've heard of people running it 1/2 time for like LPS and softies... but i would think my water would get unstable...

you know...




those crazy ideas us reefers get... like when a polyp doesn't look good we think there's a million things wrong within our water column... lol...
