I use Red Sea Coral Pro (the one in the black container) and so far so good! Me and my bf (his tank is SPS only) have been using this salt for a few months now and everything looks great. We were using Tropic Marin Pro before but decided to switch. I had problems with my corals when I was using Tropic Marin Bio-Actif and the last batch of TMP salt I had so I had to make a switch and totally love Red Sea so far :)

I don't know much nor have had any personal experience with Kent salt.

Im partial to reef crystals. I used to use tropic marin but dang is it expensive. I used to use kent...not too impressive. No experience with sea coral pro...im gonna have to check it out. Remember that you can always supplement to your hearts desire. Happy reefing.

Tropic Marin pro reef all the way!!!
I think it's the only salt on the market that has all the trace elements in it too, and it's pharmaceutical grade, mixes instantly, etc....

Tropic Marin Pro. Doesn't leave your mixing container full of smelly crap like DD. I hated that salt.

I must say I regretted switching from Red SEa Coral pro (the white bucket, tried to get smart) to DD.

But I will tell you I know some reefers that use DD with success. Not for me though.

Everybody will have their own preferences, and some dose to get to the numbers they like...
I use ESV B-Ionic seawater system. All the chemicals are in seperate containers, so you don't have to worry about the different things settling and causing differences in mix to mix... Takes 15-20 minutes from start to ready to pour into your tank, and has absolutely 0 residue. Numbers are exact with each batch you mix, and the only difference from your numbers is Mag is 1350.

I'm thinking of switching to Red Sea but the only issue I have with TMP is that I have to adjust everything. Which means 3 tests and fresh water adjustments. The alk is ridiculously low.

Well you will be happy with RSCP, the alk is ridiculously high! lol... I consistently test between 9.5-10.5 @ 1.025. (even tho the bucket says 12.5 I have never tested near that).

good luck, Mike

if you want to spend an arm and leg tropic marin pro or reefers best are the top dogs. i like both my arms and legs so i use red sea coral pro. i switched from d&d because of same issue the container turns brown. you can even get a bucket of TMP or RSCP and mix half and half with instant ocean coralife or a cheaper salt and save money
