Chalices--I'll show you mine, if you show me yours

Somehow, I have accumulated over the last couple years about 40 chalices in my sps dominant tank. I mean what else are you going to place on the lower third of your reef scape.

All of mine have been around for a while and were pretty inexpensive (at least for a chalice). I work all over Los Angeles and so when I can, I try to drop by lots of different LFS. If you are patient and time it right, there are some beauties to pick up really cheap. Also have gotten some great deals with local hobbyists as well. Most of these started out as about dime size pieces and some larger. Patience is a wonderful attribute in this hobby--wish I had more of it

Awesome pic, Justin. I want to take photos like yours. Very cool chalice
It's not hard. Practice makes perfect. The photo is a little oversharpened. May have done a little too much post processing but the colors are relatively right. This was before my tank had a semicrash though. The colors of this specific mummy eye aren't nearly as nice as it was in this picture.

My favorite, a no name from I think coral gazers or maybe coral collection. Which is the one in the industrial/business park. I am sorry but the names are so darn familiar and I have gotten stuff at both

Don't remember who or where I got the next three

Hey Mark, Very nice chalices !
I was wondering, with your sps dominant tank, how much light are the chalices receiving , and how much flow ? I just bought some from blue rocket, and i'm trying to figure out how much light and flow to give them...

I think they actually get quite a bit of light, at least the majority do. I have lots of flow in my tank but most of it is directed near the top where the sps hang out. But if they get shaded somewhat, it does not seem to matter
