very nice...can you give a bit more info on that lighting setup? Did you make it yourself or had it put together for you?
Also, what fish do you plan on keeping in your sweet setup?

you dont have to put 1 square inch of lightbulb for every 1 square inch of tank floor... light does spread you know!

j/k

it looks great, especially that custom hood, thats why I said that :man_in_love:

sweet.

Nice setup, dude...

I'd love to hear more about that light setup, too. That is the only way my wife would go for a suspended light setup if it was clean looking like that...

thanks guys......

Much planning has gone into making this the perfect setup....

The light setup is yes over done...lol....but it is sweet...the concept is basically I have taken ceiling fan parts and used them as my method to hang the canopy which allows me to feed the wires through the pole to the ballasts in the next room....so there are no wires visible..being I am an electrician this was easy....

It is not adjustable but could have been made to be but I feel it is perfect and would never need too.

I built it all myself....the canopy was constructed to be as light as possible. All together it weighs roughly 40 lbs.

I am now since converting my 180g to a softie tank with a ton of fish....So there will be minimal fish in this one....

No special plan yet on which fish but they will be unique for sure....the goal will be a good clean grounds for SPS mainly with few lps...

Its going to be a long epic adventure to get this one done just right.....

The rockwork....can you believe that shelf piece in there weighs 40 lbs by itself and is almost 3 feet across.....

More to come for sure

Thanks...thats what I am hoping....simple rock design so it wont take away from the corals

I will be adding corals on day 10....just strated the 14 day zeovit cycle (MODIFIED) using probidio bio digest, VSV (vodka,sugar,vinegar) and sponge excel....just added a fish and orange cap to test the waters....

I am at day 5 right now......

Then I will be looking for sps colonies let me know who has some for sale....I got plenty of frags of all sorts but I need some colonies.....

I love your aquascape. That flat rock is gonna look nice with a bunch of colonies on it.

Sorry john way late on the response.....you can find all the info on zeovits website or just google zeovit 14 day cycle and it will come up

Basically you have to be running zeovit of course....next you need a carbon source....either zeostart or vsv (vodka, sugar, vinegar) I am using brightwells sponge product its cheaper and probidios biodigest....again much cheaper than zeovit products.

I have ran the cycle..I have to admit it hasnt been just 14 days but I am not an expert on it....but I have seen it been done with great results.....it was interesting watching a completely dead tank go through the transformations of algae blooms and bacterial growth

I have been laxing on adding to the tank....the fish I have for it are still in a qt....and the corals I am a little skeptical of adding just yet....no rush

120g leemar update lotsa pics tnak is done!

So the tank is now done stocked and ready for show......
I am quite pleased and happy with how the build came out
It is a SPS dominated tank with LPS as well
Thanks to CFM which took a good chunk out of my wallet...it is pretty full
I am now working on building up the livestock which I will introduce slowly over the next 4-6 months.

Tank was set-up using a modified zeovit 14 day cycle...Everything was originally dead in the tank..Rock and sand....initially starting with dosing VSV and prodibio biodigest and brightwells sponge excel...I have since changed over to just the Pordibio "Bioreef kit."

Coral and fish were introduced after a month not on day 12 as stated you can on the zeovit method but I wasnt in a big rush.

So far everything is happy and looking amazing
So heres the Specs:

Tank;
120ish gal Leemar corner overflow but set-up as a peninsula
Equipment;
advanced acrylics 30g sump
Bubble king mini-200
Vertex 3 liter Zeolith reactor

2- ice cap ballast

LED stunner strips for show
Livestock;
1 perc
1 hippo
1 fiji damsel
1 yellow tang
1 blenny (i forget what he is)

Corals;
