Where's the LOVE for my booth!? I had SPS colonies starting at $30... buy 3 SPS frags for $25... Supreme grade rainbow acan for as low as $40.. $10 Favia frags.. list goes on and on....

......only down sided was that we shoved 6 frag tanks and a large fish only tank into a 10 X 10 so our booth got packed easily and anyone that didnt wanna wait moved on to the next :-/...

If their was a prize for most livestock in a 10x10.....we smoked everyone..hahaha, but we booked a 20 x 10 for next year so no worries..
Yep sorry to say but I went to your booth twice and ended up walking away because it was just too crowded. Hope you had air of sales but the layout made it tight in there.

O your sps went down in price, you quoted me 50 on sat :/ lol
I said "starting at".. I lowered my monti cap colonies to 30 on Sunday since they weren't moving. Which helped cause I didn't have to bring back any. Plus you usually pick out all my higher selected ones. Anyways most of those were also lowered to buy 2 for 80 on Sunday which moved them real quick. Thanks for stopping by!

I don't responded much on here but I just need to on this one. I attended shows all across the country and I see the same vendor at all the show. Reefkoi, gonzo, WWC, zoathinds.com and so on. Guess what? NONE attended max. The bottom line is that everyone complains and doesn't realize all the cost and time put into attending the shows. Then on top of that they want all the nicest corals for generally less than I can get them for. Then in addition to that we have "hobbyist" who grow out corals for free and sell right across from me and pay $250 for a booth when I paid $1,000 for mine! Long story short is I wouldn't do the show either but since I live 20 minutes away and dont have to get a hotel room, rent a car ship a tank and so on. All I know is I can go to texas, florida, colorado, utah and do a one day show and no one complains and everyone is so happy to have us there. They appreciate all the time and effort we put in. now this area is know as the "socali complainers" and it really should be like that. 99% of my customers are so happy with the good deals I give them then you get 1 or 2 guys who didn't have a good experience and feel the need to bash me when they never ever bought anything from me in the first place. I just think its better served for those people to just not buy and keep the complaining to themselves. I just don't understand why someone feels the need to complain and go after someones business and their way of life. I'm sure they are always perfect at their jobs....

Wow.., I hope this kind of mind set only belongs to a minority of sellers at the show. Every business has costs associated with its operation. I'm not sure what type of appreciation you are seeking for these basic cost and risk that come from operating a business, especially on the retail side that relies heavily on customer service and satisfaction. I believe you are hearing complaints due to your attitude. I bought from 3 vendors at the show and one of them had sub standard water quality for their livestock. The water they kept the fish in had an ammonia reading of 4. I complained to them and guess what, their attitude was great. They apologized, explained the situation, and told me they stood behind their business and would give me a free replacement if it didn't make it. They gave me no reason to complain, even they were not perfect. You are right. No one is perfect, but owing up to your mistakes is key, especially on the retail side of pet business. I hope your attitude would change coz you sure sound like a spoiled shop that has some kind of god complex disorder.

I don't think you understand what I said. I'm not even talking about me. I'm talking about all the complaining in general about prices. This is why NONE I mean NONE of the out of state vendor who actually do this as a business attend this show. Theyre at all the other shows I go to and I ask them why they don't do this show and they tell me the same thing over and over. They don't want to deal with all the low balling and complaining about prices. believe it or not, I go to show and sometime people just point at corals and say I'll take this and this and that and don't even ask how much its cost.

Did you guys have the white lab in your booth? My girlfriend was "meh" about the fish and the frags. But she loved the dog.

The following is the thread that complains about your service. One person, whom I believe is from your store, even offered free frag just to make up for your attitude.

I wish there were more people willing to share bad experiences, it really sheds some light on the true colors of people. Also we definitely need more people selling out of their displays, pretty sure it epitomizes the word Hobbyist.

LOL….. This is some funny $hit. Here's the low down from Coral Obsessions. I have to say that we went out and sold those Florida Rics for basically cost. We did the whole pre-order thing to compete with the garage vendors which we are totally cool with. I love to be competitive. BUT>>>>>> We got so much $hit from the locals who complained about the rics and choosing the ones they wanted and the colors they wanted and not being able to pic at all the same time.. and then giving us advice on how to raffle off fist choice on picking up… so much complaining on something we did at cost. Literally… we made like $10 on 80 rics. NO JOKE.
I know you all want to jump on the victim bandwagon but being a retailer we see how it is now. Everyone complains about prices. When I sell a blue agave on the east coast for $35 they are happy. I was selling colonies of 10-15 at the show for $35 and 30 people said no….lol….. That's what I'm talking about.
Look….. I like Nick and Wally and Chad and all the other local vendors. We all deal with the same stuff and you can NEVER make everyone happy. We try. Shoot…. I probably have away 30 frags this last weekend to people who didn't even buy anything from us. No joke. Just giving stuff away. They were happy.lol…. Anyway… come by for some more free stuff. always have things we are tired of and if you ask for some I'll give it to you for free…. and I will still have haters… no biggie.. it's all good. Still love me some SCR… DID YOU GUYS SEE GUMBII on Sat???? Made me smile….. Wanted to give him a bunch of stuff for free but he vanished…

If we should be complaining at anything it should be at the MAX organizers, because they're the ones charging everyone the entry fee and charging the vendors for their booths. I personally know a couple of the vendors there and two of them told me they even had to pay extra for every person they brought in for help. So the ones really making all that extra cash are the people organizing the event. If they didnt have to charge so much just to organize the event, the vendors would be able to charge less for their coral. I didnt end up going this year because I realized I couldnt afford it. I'm still saving for next year's tuition fees so every penny counts and spending $30 to go, taking the day off and losing a potential $150 in tips plus all the money I'd spent on "good deals"...I figured if I wait it out I can find that awesome warpaint scolly or that rainbow acan from a fellow reefer at an awesome price, after all, patience is key in this hobby ;)

That's the key point. Patience really does pay off. I tell customers all the time when they want a $30 polyp from us that if they wanted to be patient they could find it on the forum for $10 if they waited for it to pop up… But because we have it right then, they want it and are willing to pay extra. I will leave this thread alone, just wanted to say a few things in defense of some people I like. Just to give a little perspective from the other side. But everyone knows I'm a jerk.
