Man ANY time I think something in my tank is gonna take a turn for the worst, the FIRST thing I do (after checking water quality) is a water change! Its a cure-all! Isn't that what I suggested?

When in doubt, do a water change! Hey that sounds good. I think I'm gonna put that on a shirt or bumpersticker.

Leave it be. My RBTA looked like it didn't want to live when I first got it. Just do a water change and give it time. Don't try to feed it until its nice and inflated in like a week. But start with a water change.

That's a little high. If you could get it down to 8.4 and STABLE. You'll be good to go...they sell pH adjuster. But you should just do another water change. But remember its better to have stability than wild parameters. A coral will grow better at 8.4 with it being stable than a pH that fluctuates wildly...

that isn't all that high and certainly not worth messing with imo. When I dosed kalkwasser daily my ph shot up to 8.6 during the day. It fluctuated between 8.2 and 8.6 and I had 3 huge rbta's, colored sticks and ric's. Like other posts said stability is key. The swings will do more harm than good.

BTA are very hardy in general. Unless your parameters are way off it'll acclimate to your tank.

Well everything seems to be at normal levels now which is good. The nem's mouth is closed now and planted itself on another rock. It is inflated now but everthing seems to be extended. the nem looks huge.. i'm not sure if thats a good thing or a bad?
