When you remove those bioball and filter, you can remove that divider to make bigger room for bigger skimmer or you move skimmer into that section and turn that section into sock holder section but need a piece of glass and silicon bottom of 1st baffle to divert the flow to skimmer section.
you can turn it into refugium section as well by using the piece of eggcrate and 4 pvc legs (about 2" height). Turn the orginial refugium into return pump section and turn pump section into RO reservoir ( If you want to add seservoir without space)

Hope it help.

Haha basically all the ideas that ran through my head. I don't have the bio-crap thankfully. In order to fit a bigger skimmer in there I actually would have to completely move 2-3 baffles and I would lose refuge space. Better idea is to buy a skimmer (found one) that has the same foot print yet handles twice the amount of bio load.

Thanks for the thoughts. It's great to hear other people are on the same mind track.

Haha will do. Still not sure what I'm going to do with the sump yet. You have great ideas though just not sure it's worth all the work.

If you have an idea, I would do it because the last thing you want is to get your new setup running and think "man I wish I did this and that". Speaking from experience because I rushed through setups before. Lol

I was looking at a SWC 120 cone. Ultimate I'm not changing the skimmer for some time. And the more I look at this sump the more I'm actually ok with it for the time being. If I change anything ever on it I'll do it the next time I move and I'll probably order one exactly how I want it.

I'd suggest unless your tank is super heavily stocked, go with something smaller than an s120. I just pulled an s120 off of a lightly stocked 66g because it was too big. That old 2x rule doesn't really work on modern skimmers IMO. Something like the SCA 301 would be a better fit.

If you do decide to do something with it, I would just remove the baffles to create a larger skimmer section, and leave the return section as is. That wouldn't take long.

I would also recommend going with a different skimmer... those are known to have startup issues and I don't think they are even sold new anymore.

I have a Eshopps S120 skimmer if you want to try it. It has a new pump. Not sure if it would be any better than the one you have though.

Came with the SCA 301.

I have a Bubble Magus NAC3.5 I may use instead of the SCA 301 that came with the tank.

So the more I think about this and look at the sump with my manifold idea, to more I want to turn the center into the return and the return section into a bigger refuge. Just not a big fan of the baffles.

That is one of the good idea, if you are going to do that, knock out that divider as well so more room for you in case you want to switch bigger skimmer.

For Refugium, I think about add the up flow Algae Scrubber system on the side of Refugium.

Plumbing dry fit... Open too suggestions. One difference I am thinking of is moving the return bump to the back for easer access to the 2 reactors.

I see a couple of possible issues.

What is holding the reactors up?
When the reactors are filled, i would not be comfortable with the stress on the plumbing due to the weight of the full reactors. Why not just get 2 male barb fittings and run a hose from your manifold to the reactors sitting on the bottom of your stand?

Second, your whole "S" designed return line looks like it is going to cause you to loose a fair amount of flow. If you decide to redo the reactors design you can fix your plumbing into a more linear design with a manifold, which should decrease the resistance and increase your flow.

Just my opinions... I consider myself decent with plumbing and could help when i pick up the other tank or i can text you pictures of mine to show you what i am talking about.

keep up the solid work!

Thanks Justkeepswimming for the chat earlier. Things are moving forward. Need to build my electronics cabinet tomorrow and hopefully I'll have my everything fully running tomorrow night. Got a few small drips in the plumbing to figure out as well, but my freshwater run was successful otherwise.

Everything has been doing great in the tank this week. All corals open and super happy and I have not seen my clown this happy and swimming around since she was in my 75. Added snails, crabs, and a peppermint shrimp yesterday and then pick up a few new sticks today. A Blue Tip Pink Milli colony and a ATL Jolene.

Photos taken just after adding them, so they are a little pissed.
