Love it! I've got no skills lately myself...

I'd like to see this tank sometime, my favorite tank thread!

Appreciate it! Its not that exciting in person. My tank is composed of primarily little frags. Plus the vast majority of my pictures are top down which gives a really favorable view of colors. Most are not that dramatic through the front glass. But my tank is a bow front, so front shots are usually kind of blurry so I opt for all the top downs for focus.

I placed this strawberry shortcake in the very back corner behind a pillar of rock, practically have to take the picture from behind the back of the tank. I have tried top down but until it is bigger, it is just obstructed by rock work.

Ooh that one is hot. Yes, i hate trying to get good pics too, i have a hard time doing top downs and i hate shooting through glass. I'm sure your corals look nice though.

Sometimes you get lucky, I am hoping this frag continues to develop. I have nicknamed it the Yellow Eyed Jawdropper.

The body is tangerine-light orange, not really any pink in it that I can see when I look at it in the display. The camera seems to add some pink artifact or maybe i am just seeing what I want.

It's kind of has an army green body with rust colored polyps but I really like. Just something goofy and different, although I paid more, it's got that $5 bin look to it. I prefer to think of it as "retro"

I had a power outage some weeks ago. Blown circuit breaker the afternoon after I left on a 10 day vacation. Lost some fish and some coral before problem fixed. Stuff always happens when you're on vacation

Browned out this frag of RR USA orange passion

Sorry about your losses. How were you notified that the tank lost power?

Well my apex did not send me a text. I have never been all that enamored with apex and I'm not sure why I wasn't notified through it. The person babysitting my tank and dog called me on Saturday to tell me the lights were out Friday afternoon/evening ( why they did not call then, I can't answer) and never turned on Saturday morning. I then tried to connect via apex and couldn't. Used FaceTime to look at the apex brain and it was dark. On FaceTime , was able to see the circuit breaker and the two fuses marked "fish tank" were blown. I was able to instruct how to reset the breaker.

So,the tank was cold and oxygen starved after all those countless hours without electricity. Lost about four fish, borbonius that I had for a couple years, a flame wrasse, a male bipartus wrasse, and a potters angel. I had fragged my pink floyd and the Vinh a couple weeks earlier, the cut frags made it but not the mother colonies. I lost a small handful of random frags in the display as well. It could and should have been a total wipe out. I actually can't figure why it wasn't. So,all in all, I got lucky with just the few losses that I suffered. I was told there were a number of fish laying on the sand. I have something like 20 plus fish.

I was worried the dead coral and dead fish were going to cause an ammonia spike but the tank seemed to handle it. My calcium reactor is on a solenoid, so I am assuming it functioned as designed although my calcium reactor likes to dump all it's water with a power outage so I'm sure I had a temporary alk spike although when I retuned from vacation the alk was in range as well as the nitrates.

I have my apex send me an alert each day at noon to make sure it's online. Somedays, it gets annoying but at least I know the apex is online.
