star polyp vs birds nest frag

hey guys,
looks like my star polyp colony is taking over the tank slowly, it's slowly encroaching onto my birds nest frag, and bars of the birds nest frag is starting to get white, should I cut out the part of the star polyp that's starting to take over that area and move it?

Pull the GSP back. It will kill the birdsnest. The only SPS i have seen fight GSP is Red Planet...

Yeah definitely, I just tried to take a part of it out but it's so attached to the rock that it's hard to even take out! It's taking over about 1/4 the rock property in my tank already.

yeah thats the problem with that coral. Its very pretty and interesting but many have the same problem that you are having. You can try to take a razor and get under the mat (purple part) and peel it off like skin. Sometimes that will work but the stuff is a big pain. Good luck.
