Hopefully we'll be in our new apartment this week, so I'll get the tank cycling. My last reef was a 180g, so moving back to a nano size is gonna make me think hard about what I can keep. What would you put in a 34g cube?

I'm thinking color and personality. :D

EDIT: Btw, I'm looking for fish suggestions. As far as coral goes, the tank will be SPS dominant with some LPS and clams.

I know clowns is very cliche, but you can't beat them for personality and overall activity. It really brings tanks to life. So I say, a pair of clowns, a goby (yasha goby), a flasher wrasse (McCosker's or Carpenter's), helfrichi firefish (again, very active and pretty). Maybe a blenny (tailspot?). I'd suggest a Starry Blenny, but they could be jerks. Also maybe some kind of pseudochromis (dotty back, etc.).

Thanks guys! I may go with clowns. I always have had them in my reefs.

However, I'm now thinking about doing basslets (or at least one). I really want a candy basslet, and I would love to have a golden assessor basslet too...but I'm not sure if I can have both in the same tank.

How about a hawkfish of some sort? I have an Arc Eye and a Flamehawk. Both are really colorful fish with a ton of personality.

So...yeah...didn't realize that Candy Basslets (Liopropoma carmabi) go for almost $1k...that's a big NO! Very disappointing bc it's a stunning fish. I was thinking that they'd be around $100-$200 by now (since they were captive bred back in 2012).
