Storing salt water?

Some newbie question...

How long can I store LFS bought water?

Can I store salt water outside in my sunny patio? Would sunlight or heat be an issue?

Would storing water in a light color container be better as compared to a dark or blue container? I heard that colored containers contains dyes?

I wouldn't store it without circulating it for longer than a day and definitely not in the sunlight..
If you mix it and store it, you can keep it circulated for a week before use.

keep it sealed and out of the sun should last you a good amount of time. I store about 50g of mixed saltwater for a month til I have to make a new batch for water changes.

I'm hoping I can store a month worth of water... ~25 gals. As for storage location, I guess I'll need to find some place inside my tiny condo.

I would think if you get 1 of the food grade blue barrels it would be fine

I have stored both NSW and various mixed brands for months without problem. Keeping it out of light is best.

I was told by my lfs you can keep either kind in a closet or someplace similar for about 3 months

Food grade Brutes trash cans are fine with the lid on. I store mines (synthetic saltwater) for weeks without issues after the initial mix.

I would check to see what kind of saltwater your LFS is mixing or bringing in

My local fishstore sells natural saltwater and told me i can store it for a week, and two weeks if i put an airpump in it.

That is bs. Keep in mind that info is coming from someone who is selling you saltwater.
