Tank Cleaning With Sand

Hello....I recently upgraded from a 34g with aragonite to a 75g with sand.

I used to vac the gravel when I did water changes, and got a lot of dirt out.

So now that I have sand....what do people do? Obviously if you suck the sand, you'll suck a lot of it up.

Of course I have hermits, narcissa snails, astrid snails, etc. and also a tiger shrimp goby who shovels the sand around too. No sand stars at the moment.

What's the consensous on this issue?

I use a Aquarium syphon
at a 45 degree angle
And the sand falls back down
For the most part
