Is it ok to throw Ice Packs in There

Past 2 days i came home and it was 83... I set the chiller up today, but noticed that my heaters thermostat is sticking, so im gonna get a new one tomorrow. One more thing to buy along with a new skimmer pump and a pump for my gfo reactor.

Also noticed that my aiptasia reaaaaally took off growing the past 2 days. Bubble algae thats on one frag is a lot bigger too. Fish are hungrier too...

That's because the animals metabolic rate increases with higher temperatures.

Been at a steady 77.5. During the hot periods it's easier to keep my tank cool as the AC is full time. I find it harder to keep it cool when it's cold out as that's when the heater in the house is cranking.

Chiller temp says 76.5 although my measured temp is 79. Perhaps I need to set the chiller lower.

I have read some where also the increase tmps can also indirectly kill corals by magnifying the effects of infectious diseases, which are one of the primary causes of coral loss, during the summer time. The severity of marine diseases could increase with temperature for several reasons. Because elevated water temperature causes corals physiological stress, it can also compromise their immune system, potentially making them more susceptible to infections. Additionally, increased temperature could also benefit bacterial and fungal pathogens, making them more fit and/or virulent. hth

A better explanation would be that bacteria and viruses multiply faster in hotter environments.

4? No. Living with my parents is a lot cheaper and it's not as if they baby me or something. It's the sensible thing to do in this economy.
