My Tank Build

Today wasn't a real productive day on the build. But I did get a few things done. I ordered the glass for the baffles for the sump they should be in Wednesday. So hopefully I can get started on that this week. I did get around to painting the 30 gal acrylic sump and the bottom of the tank so light wound shine up trough

After painting I hung the sump with stainless steal screws.

Today my 2 3/8' glass grill bit came in the mail.

After a little prep work I drill drilled three holes on about 20 minutes. 1 hole in the bottom of the tank and two holes on the back side of my sump.

My finger is on the new hole.

The hole on the right is going to the intake on the return. The hole on the left is to be the outlet from the drain of the overflow box

Yea I cracked the side panel when taking off the trim. I ordered a new peace if glass to replace it. Should be in today. The 30gal is going to hold the ATS I may through some chaeto if needed but there will only be 4 gallons at most in the 30.

Always better to have more and not need it, then need it and not have it. Great price as well

Seems like metal would corrode after a while. What about those heavy duty cargo straps you use to tire down stuff in the bed of a truck?

Thats why i mentioned stainless steel and if he were to use metal and get straps powder coated there wouldnt be an issue
