I'd say if you like it then go for it. Here are a few drawbacks to consider so you know what to expect:
Black sand tends to be attracted to magnets therefore likes to cling onto magnetic algae scrubbers. So be careful when you're cleaning towards the bottom of your tank. Also, may need to clean your flow pumps more regularly. Also, black doesn't mean it will hide more detritus. I've seen mats of mulm and detritus that shows more in black sand and it looks pretty dingy. With that said, black sand does make corals and fish pop since there's more contrast.
