ok so I'm getting tons of settlement in between my rocks... I know I need more flow in my tank, but lately I'm taking a powerhead and blowing through the rocks and stirring it all up. But the problem is I don't think my overflow is working the best, because it all just goes right back down to the sand and I'm getting "moldy" sand as the kids call it. Would I be better off getting like 2 overflows and a stronger return or drilling more whole in my overflow? I guess I can get a bigger one huh.. is that even the problem?! or if I had stronger powerheads the constant movement would eventually fix the problem?

Dido with the settlement. Lol. Thank u Larry h Parker for my 300g tank. Hahaha

Ur getting "detritus" build up...are ur rocks packed tightly together? With 4 powerheads u should be getting enough flow. (As long as they're placed correctly). If ur rocks are open with space for flow to get in between, u should fix ur problem. Also might wanna try pointing ur powerheads towards ur rocks

Varied, random flow! Stop buying koralias and fork the cheddar for a TunZe. Mix in some other pumps to chop up the water. Is your return on the weak side?

Why not just throw in a couple sand sifting fish? Sorry if I sound lame, but between my shrimp/ goby pair and an Australian Orange tail damsel they keep my whole sand bed stirred. I've only ever had 1 powerhead in my tank, but they keep the sand bed clean
