Hey guys really appreciate the support. I’m okay being a one man show during this whole ordeal. If I can save my fish after all this, I’m happy. Do you think I should continue with the daily water change or move all my fish out to my other 300 ( will be a lot of work). Just wondering when the cloudiness will start to clear. I should have bought an ammonia test today 😖

test for ammonia and nitrite for sure it’s a crash so keep the water changes going to dilute and remove toxins.

Wow that's very generous of you Danny along with everyone else! But at this point, I might just go FOWLR. So I came in this morning and tank looked less cloudy but the fish were not out and about like normal. Checked my ammonia and it was 8ppm! Did another 70g water change and it did not lower it at all. Quickly grabbed some Nite-OUT beneficial bacteria and double dosed it in the tank along with seachem prime. Fish are out and eating now but about 10 fish out of the 35 are unaccounted for. I'm going to do another 20g water change siphoning out all the dead stuff later today. I see snails, a few asterina stars and my large hermit are still alive which I take it is a good sign but the battle continues...

I cleared out most of the dead corals from the tank but my total ammonia level is off the charts at 8pmm. I got a seachem ammonia batch (reads only free ammonia) and it's reading .08 "alert". Ive been pouring prime and bottles of Nite Out 2 into the tank to get help detox the ammonia with no improvement. I have someone coming to help change out 200g of the water very soon. Most fish are okay but now my goldflake is swimming around but mildly lethargic. Im thinking of getting a bunch of live rock from my other 300 and throwing it in this tank to help with the cycle. Good idea?

Hey guys, I can confidently say I am on the other side of the tank crash. All fish are accounted for, even my leopard wrasse who disappeared when this whole ordeal occurred. My ammonia level is still detected by the test kit but def coming down. We did a 90% water change on thurs and things improved immediately. Almost all fish came out of hiding. They were mostly lethargic the morning off. I actually went out of town this past weekend but kept an eye on the tank through multiple cameras. No water changes have been done since.
I did end up losing all my corals (SPS/LEATHERS/SOFTIES) and all my inverts (snails, stars, hermits)
Two things I would have done differently which could have saved the corals/invert
1. I would have moved all the corals and inverts out the tank the first day.
2. If that wasn't possible, I would have raised the salinity more gradual by adding salt directly into the sump instead of doing large water changes and increasing the salinity dramatically that way.

Here's to new beginnings!
