I asked about the 3rd gen and the guy at Vivid assured me that they are not out yet (that he knows the manufacturer personally, etc.) I have seen them out an able to order, in any case, I got 6 2nd gen bulbs ((3) 440 nm Actinic, a 10, 12, and 16K) I may or may not get the other 2 and thinking about the SPS UVA...$429.99??? for a bulb, I guess what I got wasn't much cheaper...

BTW...not a baller, the lambo is a friend's, range is my brother's, house is my mom's...the tank is all mine though :) Couldn't resist putting up those pictures though...:redface-oops-6:

So I guess sunbrites are not available...I ordered them from vivid and a week later they called and said that they haven't spoke to the manufacturer in weeks...that he is nowhere to be found...back to the drawing board...

Yeah I looked into Sunbrite and I heard about alot of problems with them.

I just ordered a Sfiligoi Genesis T5 and I cant wait to see how it works out. Its a LED/T5 Hybrid. You get the shimmer, par, low energy from the LEDs plus you get the benefits of the T5's spectrum.

LEDs alone will make you corals brown out. I do not know if you read the thread in another website.

Anyone have a tank w some space to hold some of my SPS? I have been building the 225 and neglecting the 60 I have...some of them are pretty bad...On the other hand, I just got water flowing...that is A LOT of water volume...please text me if you can help me, I am in Diamond Bar, thanks! My goal with the sump is to have as much water volume possible AND having plenty of room to work...it's a 120 w 7 baffles...the water level is 13" so I needed to lift the skimmer out of the water:


BTW, if anyone ever has to raise their skimmer 3" just use a 1.5" coupling, egg crate, then 2/32 thick glass...it comes out to 3" exactly Cutting PVC perfectly straight is not easy...

Plumbing question: does anyone see a reason why this would not work well? I have (2) Quiet1 4000's pushing up 3/4" PVC and two 1.5" drains. Instead of using a Durso, I tried something I saw on a tank: straight pipe with teeth cut out (4 slits about 1/4" thick) with a cap on the end, and 1/4" hole drilled in the cap...there doesn't seem much wrong at the top but it is LOUD...I mean very loud, any ideas? thanks again!

Yes, I saw the AI but it's not impress me that much. I like the sleek look hanging above my tank.

I use a durso drain style pipe. My tank is dead silent. Only thing you here is water moving because of the small crest the 6105's make.

My 90 gallon was semi quiet but this 225 is real quiet.
