Hello everyone,

I have this strange looking organism that seems to be only on my mushrooms, zoanthids, and palys. This organism is round and is about the size of a zoanthid. It is flat but transparent and has pinkish red color to it. I don't know if it is harmful but I don't like it at all. Do anyone what it is and how I can get rid of it? It is bothering me when I look at my zoanthids or mushrooms and i see this flat round organism covering the colors. Thanks and appreciate any information.

I also have some pics if you can see it. I am posting pics for the first time here at this forum so I might mess things up. Sorry.

yes they are harmful to corals. I actualy just had this issue and I used flat worm exit by salifert. I was a little skeptical about it becuase I would prefer not putting stuff like this in my tank but you just need to make sure you do it right. The larger the tank, the better becuase what will happen is when the flatworms die they release a toxic chemical in the water. So, try and suck out as much a of them before you use the product. Once they die suck out as many dead flatworms as you can. The flatworms will die withink 45 min. Most will die almost instantly. After I would put some activated carbon in your tank then do a 10-20% water change after you see ALL worms are dead. This will take alot of the toxins out and you should be flatworm free with out effecting anything in your tank.
