I was at a random LFS and I saw a 24X24X24 Starfire tank with "Diamond Polished Edges" and I asked one of the workers what is it exactly. He told me that it gives it a smooth rounded corner and it gives it better silicone contact seal than non-polished tanks like Petco... I was wondering if that's true or not...?

It is a process that makes glass or acrylic edges smoother. Makes it look more stylish and cleaner.

It depends on the tank manufacture. Most diamond polished edges are beveled on both sides giving more contact area for the silicone and a shiny center. Where most non polished edge tanks are not beveled which gives less contact area for the silicone. In my opinion polished edge tanks are stronger and better looking.

That sounds pretty good to me... I guess I'll ask for it when I get a custom tank. Thanks Chad!
