What was your first coral purchase?

I was surfing the web and ran across a pix of a coral that resembled the first coral I bought 8 years ago. It was a small rock full of brown button polyps and remember bringing it home with a big smile on my face. Not to say that I have no appreciation for it, but just funny how things have changed

My first coral purchase was a small colony of Green Star Polyps(GSP).

Mine was a rock with like 10 heads of yellow polyps that I got from toomuch420

green zoas and eagle eye zoas...what a mistake that was...it's growing out of control in my tank right now....

the worst thing is the green zoas is in the middle of my rock scaping so it's not like I can take it out and swap it with a new one...

A small rock of pulsing xenia. Lasted about 4 days and melted (those days I didnt even know what a skimmer was)! :jester:

Pulsating xenia, clove polyps, hammer coral that I still have and a lobo I still have. Troopers through and through.

Only coral that I literally killed out of neglect was a hearty flower pot.

Sps like a few dozen but mostly just came crappy.

my first corals were free but the first ones I bought were some yellow polyps, and a bubble coral...almost everything else has been traded for something or another

2 head purple tip frogspawn. I sold it a year ago and it had 24 heads on it.

a frag of eagle eye zoas, wizard eye zoas and hulk palys... that was to test out my light and they were like super cheap...


right after, i got some nuclear greens and chalices... LOL...

I got some eagle eyes zoas and some random green ones and a bleached out neon yellow finger leather that ended up melting and turning black in my tank . I learned quick from that day forward of bleached corals.
