Im using a pair of Koralia 4s in my 80 gal mix reef but looking into getting something controllable to add to my Apex controller or something. This way i can have variable flow and change the directions throughout the day. I was told the SPS would appreciate it and show their thanks. :D Any suggestion or experiences?

For SPS you want high variable flow, nothing laminar (that's a fancy way of saying your water should move as chaotic as possible).

The best SPS tank I ever had used an OM4 way on a Dart pump plus two Seio 2600's (one in each back corner) plus the return from the sump. All in all i had over 7000gph turnover per hour in a 150gal tank and with the OM4 it was constantly in total chaos. Polyp extension was insane!

Also did you got to Cal Poly Pomona or San Lois Obispo? My friend graduated with his ME from pomona last year...

Tunzes seem to be very pricey from what ive seen. Didnt expect them to be THAT much more compared to a non controllable.

Can controllable Koralia be ran from a Neptunes Apex controller? or does it need its own controller?

Have a BB mixed reef.
70g shallow reef (48x24x14tall).

Use 2 koralia4's in the back on the bottom to keep waste from settleing, 2 koralia3's top back wall pointing to the front, and 1 koralia2 top front left corner pointing to right side.

Also using a rioHF14 as a return top in the middle.

I want to know how you guys with sand keep it on the bottom.

I had Tunze 6045 and constant movement of sand. Now use Tunze 6025 unmodded in rear corners facing front and a Q.O.6000 return through a SCWD. Sand stays put now.

How do you like the SCWD coming from the return? I heard it was loud and gets stuck causing only one side working. LMK what your experience is on this product. thinking about getting one for my 30x30x18 tank. thx
