Its totally fair. But then again your going to have plumbing coming in and out of the tank, which means its not completley portable. I think it would look awesome if you did plum it where you cant see any of the plumbing, and have the mini tank recessed somewhere in a bookshelf or something rather, would be trippy if you have like 8 of those seperated by like 12" all plumbed together. Bill make sure to take some pics when you decided to pursue this.

question-how many answers regarding the system can be deduced from the coralline alone: age, stability, ion balance, oxygen stability, the fact sps are alive and not recessed...just an idea. another interesting point to consider is coral allelopathy considering you have a hammer coral surrounded by xenia and mushrooms, seems like stinging wars, yet the system looks exactly like a larger layout in terms of coral density and health

Hey guys just to update this old thread, I wanted to post an updated view of feeding this pico very heavily and what it might look like if organizations shipped out coral free of charge to members who would grow reseeding pods in their homes and be ready to ship them to any disaster that required reef reseeding etc...just brainstorming. the pico reefs are very sucessful long term, I've had the same one since this thread was first posted two years ago and it was two years old before then...wondering what that type of longevity could be used for:

This is the first that I've heard of these and WOW, I'm impressed. I was totally thrown off by the small tank to the left, at first I thought the vase was 4ft tall but then the GIANT hand came and put everything into perspective.
