My personal experience with one was quite peaceful never really bothered anyone

Been some time since I’ve had one but always found them to be model citizens when I did.

Look for A. randalli (candy cane pistol). They stay small and are fun to watch. They'll pair up with a wide variety of gobies. I've had mine for almost 7 years now. I actually love the snapping sound at night (and sometimes during the day).

Anyone have any experience with tiger pistols? LFS guy said that's the one I should go with if I am pairing it with a YWG

They’re a larger species and often found with YWG. You should be fine.

My pistol is a great citizen and cave buddy with our sleeper goby. I often see him bulldozing the sand clear of the cave they created.

I literally just bought one and a yellow watchman goby from Harry’s marine life in Gardena… I believe it was $25 and $20 for the goby…I’m a 32g bio cube and they paired almost right away!

never have a pistol shrimps before. Are they any risk it might kill a baby mandarin dragonet in a 14 gallon?

Golden State Corals in Reseda has a tiger pistol. I saw one there yesterday.
