In life I think it’s important we know our strengths. Cord management is the furthest thing from mine. I have two systems and the cords are a mess. Im hoping to pay someone a generous hourly wage to use their expertise to make it look nice and tight and have maintenance be easy.

Im in Santa Ana and work from home so can pretty much always be available.

Thank you in advance

IMO, perfectly neat and all bound up is not the way to go. This is not an airplane or a SCORE car, it’s a fish tank. Things need service regularly and things break and get upgraded. This is what I did Jan 2019 and it still looks great and is quite functional. Probably 1/2 of the equipment has been changed since then but the system still works well and is easy to add/remove and keep organized, you can pay me to do it for you but it will be expensive.

over the last few weeks I’ve had to change out my return pump twice, several pH Probes, added some Neptune modules and replaced a 6105. My approach to cable management made it easy to keep it neat and organized.

@laverda is a really good friend of mine (don’t tell anyone, I wouldn’t want to hurt his reputation)

the cable management system I chose is a product called “snake tray”. I also used what are known in structured cabling as “D-rings”. Because I had time, I had them powder coated red. I think I paid $100 for powder coating, looks nice and protects from salt water.

You might want to look into “finger groove” it’s a PITA to work with getting the covers on and off but it’s made of PVC so it’s GTG in a marine environment.

just cut this stuff with a hacksaw, cut it square and it will look good. Don’t trust the sticky tape to hold it beyond mock-up and go to the hardware store and buy the right length/head screws to make it permanent. You can pay me to do it, but it will be expensive. You can pay Steve and it will be just about as good but less expensive or you can sit down, plan it all out and DIY and it still won’t be as good as I would do but you will save a lot of money and have the pride of doing it yourself

Probably 3-4hrs @$85/hr +$100 in materials so, $350-$450 for me to do it Assuming we don’t get crazy. Custom backer board, add 4 hrs +$100 in materials.

I used a cable raceway with a cover. It’s designed for hiding cables, usually for IT. Easy to pop the cover off and work on cables. And when you are done, just pop the cover back on. I don’t bundle the cables, it’s a pain to work on.
