What's up guys had a bad weekend. Had arrival issue pop up didn't watch my tank for 2 days. Came home tank had run low on water started sucking air but was still circulating. But it turned my water into a white haze. Really cloudy.
I did a 5 gallon water change after adding water to tank and checking salinity. Nothing else added and this thing is still cloudy my branching hammers have shrunk to almost nothing my zoas have not opened. My skimmer was foaming like crazy. I emptied at least 10 full cups in about an hour of just clear liquid. Finally pulled skimmer out to check to see if Venturi was clogged good to go. Any ideas.
Think I'm gonna do a massive water change. Well it's only a 34 gallon.
There's white residue buildup on my koralia where it came from?????

One thing I noticed even water coming in from overflow into sock is foaming????? WTH is going on?

Sounds bacterial like something got out of whack... How high did the salinity get before you did the water change?

Did u check for ammonia? Did something else die?

From experience when any flow such as a power head or even the return is chalk full of oxygen bubbles, corals get really stressed out and usually slime up.
Now imagine this happening non stop for hours.

Like Cody suggested, some fresh carbon (not a lot) and a wc is in order. Basically your corals pee'd and poo'd them selves from the stress.
They most likely released a lot while that pump was expelling lil oxygen bubbles into your display.

My buddy came over checked all my levels on tank today cause the wifey threw my test kits away one leaked and she tossed the box not knowing! Ouch that hurt my wallet. We did a 10g water change.
Ammonia was a little high. My carbon pack was all red and nasty so tossed it out. Gonna get some new carbon right now.

Salinity did sky rocket it was 1.028 from the 1.023 I usually try to keep it at. I don't know why it shot up like that. That much water didn't evaporate.

I did bring the salinity down before doing a water change.

I had the same problem I did 15% wc the first day with prime then I did 25% for 3 days in a row and added mb7 bacteria for every water change and the ammonia was gone
If you're using api to test prime will throw off your readings by .25 here's a pic I tested with RO water and added prime to the one one the right as you can see it gives you a false reading

Local store didn't have amquel. Tommorow they will have some brought over from their other store.
Tommorow I will do another water change. I'd drive to another store but im not supposed to drive cause all the antibiotics and stuff they have me on. The wife is 8 months 1 week pregnant so she's not digging the driving thing right now.

Man all my bbeb , hornets my nuclear greens are closed tight. My purple deaths literally all but gone and one of my crab is picking chunks off.
My red hornet frag I hope will make it I had just put it in the tank early Friday.

Thanks again guys for the quick responses.
