What are you guys doing to keep your tanks cooled?
I have central air with a smart thermostat to cool house when home, but when I’m not there I run a fan and chiller. For people who don’t have ac or a chiller what do you guys do?
Do you guys leave your windows open during the night to cool down the house before the sun comes out

Living in the I.E... the best purchase we bought was a whole house fan. Cools off the attic which helps keeps the house cool.. thankfully during the worst of months we only run the central air for about 5 hours a day. From 2 ish till about 7 ish.. then the temps at night allow us to turn the whole house fan back on. Cost us like 3k 20 years ago.

Thankfully we're on the first floor of a 4 story apartment with the windows shaded by palm trees. AC is on about an hour a day during the worst months. I think they upped the window styles also to insulate noise since we are about 20 feet from the pool.

On solar and I work from home so the AC in the main house is constantly running (programmed thermostat) and I have an additional wall mounted AC in the office (addition) where the tank is located.

I've got central AC I'll be running in conjunction with a fan. If it were to get real bad I've got a chiller for backup.

So I have a chiller.. and have not plumbed it in yet.. is the cost worst the the heaters?
i usually wait till my tank gets to 80 before i worry. ive always let my tanks run with a wider range in temp (70 in winter -80 in summer) as i have 1000 gal volume
everything but the display is in the garage. i have a garage exhaust fan that i can adjust to turn on at varies temps. usually at 90 in the garage.

yes heaters eat up as much power as a chiller just depends on size to know how bad the electric bill will be

Live in Temecula. Got 120 degrees last summer. Garage system has undersized Chiller originally for my older system 120g. New system is 220g so chiller struggles but with entry way to house propped open with fan blowing cold air into garage. It’s stable and chiller rarely turns on. Ac running full blast 69 degrees and pauses from 4-9. Seems to be working

No AC and a large western facing window sucks! I’m sure our living room will be 85 today. Fans for us and a fan for the tank. The tank seems to do fine I run it at 76.5-77 so it has some room on the upper limit. Good ol frozen water bottles if things get crazy.

Luckily it’s cooling off at night.

Yea I have 42 panels total. Originally only had 6 panels but because of the garage system and the electric water heater, 2 ev cars and 2 other tanks inside the home. We basically wanted to only pay connection through Edison which is 10 bucks a month. We pay the solar company a locked rate of 295 a month which is pretty cheap since we no longer pay for gas. Plus with the trend Edison is going with continuing price increase I think we did the right move

Currently inside home, thermostat says 83. Breeze blows though and doesn’t feel like it. Some of you I know are saying WHOA! Born and raised here for almost 60 years. Wife from the islands and go a few weeks a year for friends and family. Use to the warmth. Tank is in garage and currently 85 and plan on booking g up chiller today as a matter of fact.
If this Summer is warm like it was a couple of years ago, may even put up the Intex pool soon.
