Zoas are one of my favs but when I see 250pp prices I ask myself who put prices on these and who buys a single polyp that costs as much as some ppls car payments lol but zoas are still one of my fav corals

You probably love the guy that decided to spend $2400 on a krakatoa and emperor maul and drove that krak price way up!! But it's all in the rarity and how much people are willing to spend. And as long as things live and grow eventually prices come down. But there is so much variety and color and pop with zoas.

I've paid more than 50pp, but I could never see myself spending $1000 on a polyp no matter what it is. What happens is you buy that polyp for $1000 and by the time it's grown and fragable it's not worth a tenth of that original price. But that's the cost to get in early and have something few others have. Atleast there were a few "lucky" ones that got the kraks before they doubled in price.

Some zoas hold their prices too, hallucinations, bowsers, jf bloodshots to name a few. These have been around for years. So you never know

Slow growing will command high pricing. But at the end of the day Growing polyps is for geeks trying to afford a hobby they can't. That being said keep those polyps named on the thread and it can get you out of a pinch.

To show you acro versus polyps resale. I spent 300$ total in my life as a reef keeper. I sold in the past 3 years over 3k in polyps. In acros I've spent over 12k easy and have made back less than a thousand and after lighting and sups make that 0$. Wanna clear that I sell crap I don't wanna see anymore cause I am super eccentric.

So what's smart and what's just for shitsandgiggles?

It would blow your mind even more if you found out how much the guy that found them paid! Or how much people pay in general that go to wholesalers to cherry pick.
