Contrary to popular belief T5's burn hot as well, its just the energy is spread out over a larger area. With the correct use of fans you could do away with the chiller. Is your house air conditioned? This will help keep the atmosphere around the tank constant with fans blowing the hot air out. Check out Reef Geek for good deals on retrofit T5's kits, Tom at Socal has great deals (possibly better) on T5's. They are 48" long bulbs, 54w each x 10. 5 ballasts with 10 reflectors.

Depends how you will add it on, but a fuge is always great to have..the bigger the better and seeing as you have so much space under there go large! 4 fans will work wonders. Make sure you have your ATO set up as evap will be huge.

As big as you can go, the extra water volume and filtration from a fuge will be a huge benefit. Hell you could put a 55 gal tank under there, T off your overflow one to sump and one to fuge, use a mag 5 or 7 as a return to the tank from the fuge and then no need to plumb the sump and fuge together. just an idea...

My tank is 96" x 24" x 30" and I really wish I had gone 96" x 30" x 30". I like the extra height, but I wish I had the same options as you do with that extra 6" of sandbed. No matter what you do with it I am sure it's gonna look cool. If you are seriously considering a shark, you will need a seriously huge skimmer. They are messy eaters.

I still wouldnt do it, also depending on where the sand comes from. Some sand at HD does not come from a coastal source and may contain heavy metals which could kill everything in your system. Stick with a calcium based substrate whether from HD or a fish store.

Sohal Last for sure... Vicious bastards to any new comer and that Shark is Saweet!
