I keep going back and forth and have been for about a year about running Radions instead of my Metal Halides. I gotta say i love my Metal Halides but i dont love my electricity bill or the heat they put off. Just from the savings in energy they'll pay for themselves in a year or so im figuring.

So im hoping to see some examples of members tanks who run LED (Radion or not) and have good success with growth and coloration. Hopefully there's a few out there to help me make up my mind.

Have had my sps under ai sol blues for almost two years now. Love em, did just add two t5 bulbs for some actinic and red color, but my growth was pretty good without them too.

Your tank looks great ! Can I ask what settings, or max setting and how long at the max you have them set for. I also run the AI sol,s. Thanks

I am currently looking for lighting and have found LEDs can work very well but some have difficult times growing (although every single tank I see, looks good) but why not look into the new ATI LED Powermodule? That is of course if you were willing to part with the radions :p not completely perfect with the post, but trying to get you growth and save on your electric bill! I had to do the same exact thing.

ive been running all AIs for a few years, growth is good, color ok. I loved my MH radiums, but the bulb changes and heat were too much for me. IME, you can grow all coral under LED as long as you have enough PAR & coverage. Growth and color will be slightly different than with MH, just as it would be different with T5s, BMW, Mercedes, Audi. But thats what makes it fun.

I think I do 11a 0w 20b 40rb
1p 60w 80b 100rb t5 actinic, purple
4p t5s off
8p 20w 60b 80rb
10p 20b 40 rb
11p off

Something like that, don't go higher than 60 on the white, 3 units is overkill for my 90 g
