I used Joes juice on the aiptasia on my clam and the clam was fine. You just have to really point it in the mouth of the aiptasia and keep your pumps off until the aiptasia dies.

I've started dosing my calcium with a syringe, I'm not adding anything different, just administering it very precisely -inside- unwanted aptasia. The "needle" I'm using is huge and has no sharp tip (looks like it would be a hate crime if it were used on a person) but it goes into the aptasia mouths just fine and lets be give a little blast quickly once I'm inside.

Don't scrape. You'll end up spreading the aptasia. I have it as well an have been doing research and the spread when they move around and leave little fragments and those grow. Peppermint shrimp, copperbanded butterfly, or a nudibranch species will kill them too but die right after

I'd say scrape it off, get a peppermint shrimp and let it eat all the little aptasia that come along. there are some discrepancies on how well peppermints work, but i swear by my two little guys which do a great job

Yeah remove the clam from the tank and scrape it off. You can also put the clam in a separate bowl of tank water and treat the nem with Aiptasia X in there. Just rinse the clam after in tank water to remove any scraps.

Problem with all the predators out there, they all have big negatives. Berghias will die as soon as the aips are gone, peppermints most likely too. Butterflies and Aip-eating Filefish will most likely go after the polyps you want after the aiptasias are gone.

Oh and if you have any wrasses, some of them will take out your berghias and peppermints before they even get a chance to start...

Don't scrape it off while the clam is in the main tank!!!!! I have done a bit of reading on this. When aiptasia are stressed they release gametes into the water as a means of self preservation. You will have hundreds of little ones sprouting up everywhere (don't ask me how I know). If you are going to scrape it move the clam to a separate container to do it. Then rinse it well before putting it back in the main tank. Even then.....?
