hello to all, i'm using the galaxy ballasts. i'm having problems with them just after a 1 1/2 years. what ballasts do you guys use for your HQI's? do they last longer than this? i placed the ballasts in a cool and dry enviroment.

thanks,
john

I would return it and have them exchange your galaxy ballast as it has a 5 year warranty.

for electronic ballasts, the Galaxy, Lumatek, and IceCap all seem to be pretty good ballasts.

The magnetic ballasts seem to be pretty durable too, usually only needing capacitor replacements every now and then.

Like MikeT, I use a Lumatek and have had no issues at all for well over a year now.

good luck
