Before I got my pair I did quite a bit of research. When keeping 2 or more it's important to have only one male. It's extremely hard to find the sex of them so usually it's hit or miss. You could keep one with no problem at all.

I got two about 8 months ago and incredibly they happen to be a male/female pair so they get along great.

I bought 3 and when they matured I found out that I had two males and 1 female. I found this out because 2 of them paired up and the paired male beat up the single pretty bad.

Also just learned these fishes are nocturnal lol! Which is why my wife said they stayed under a rock the whole day and why i saw them swimming around like normal 5 am this morning. Should have figuered since they have those huge eyes hehe!

I think I am going to return mine for credit as they haven't eaten fire two days and kinda stay in the same spot. I woke up for work this morning and sure enough they haven't moved.
They really don't...they kinda chill out in the same spot...just keep feeding

Ya, the only time they really get up and move is if they are scared or fighting with something. They are cool because when they are sitting around for the most part they are in the open and not it the rocks hiding. Mine eat almost everything frozen but will not even touch spetrum pellets.
