Bday gift this year, First and Last online order -- Box of dead corals.

Just a minor gripe. Wasn't too stoked to find I ordered some corals and they came with STN. 2 Acans made it but one was beat up, 1 Monti is holding on. 3 Monties & 1 Favia DOA, 1 freebie 1/2 dead.

So a couple things. As a student, I don't have a lot of **** around money to blow on dead ****. I'm about to drop $700 on books and supplies this semester. To make it a little worse, this was my families bday gift to me this year. Yay! So while the shop agreed happily that they were DOA I was pretty unhappy to realize they would only ship replacements with my next purchase.

It's a business, not a charity, I understand.. But I just got a box of death, and you expect me to buy more corals? That's absurd, especially with a $40 shipping price when Unique Corals ships overnight for $15 in CA.

That sucks. Sorry to here that. Take lots of pic of the corals in the bag that doa. If they don't send you replacement, i would dispute it with paypal if you use that. Would never do business with them again. Also happy birthday!

It sucks but it happens. What did their DOA and shipping policy say? Were you at home to receive the shipment?
Their DOA shipping policy is you will get replacements on your next order -- 4/7 ordered corals came damaged, 1/2 freebie corals also came damaged. I'm assuming UPS did it.. But why would I make another order when 4/7 corals came damaged, and 3/4 were dead (STN while in bag).

Where did u order from?
AquaSD. They seem nice, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and blaming UPS for the damage, but I'm not a fan of their DOA agreement.

Again, with 4/7 corals damaged, and 3/4 outright dying in the bag... Whats the incentive to order more?

theres a guy on the forum trading dead coal for live coral...
Yes, o2manyfish works for Unique Corals, he's a cool guy. He's also about a 90-100 mile round trip drive from me :D

**** that sucks, I just ordered some coral from some guy in San Diego, they all arrived healthy. the one time I lost something that he sent me, and was dead the next day he still gave me a full refund minus shipping cost which was only $15.
It was probably unhealthy coral to begin with, I would definitely not purchase from Them again if where you.
I'd be happy to give you a frag if you where local

Don't let this bad company discourage you from online orders. There are plenty of good online businesses that offer healthy corals at competitive prices.

Well I'm not really blaming AquaSD for the shipping issue, that was most likely UPS. The only thing from them I was not happy with was their DOA policy. "Oh yeah, buy more stuff" is probably the worst policy I could have imagined. But they had a bunch of positive reviews so I figured give it a shot.

I'll just continue to support local reefers and buy frags from members, lol

Are they a bad company? I thought they were considered a good one, especially as they are a vendor here? Them being a Vendor at SoCali is one of the main reasons I gave it a shot.. Otherwise I'd have waited for Elis to get another Aussie shipment.

No worries! You will be taken care of and refunded for requested amount. We go up to LA every Weds, was going to offer to have my driver meet you off the freeway for some replacements :) all good, replied to your ebay dispute, thank you.

Thank you AquaSD -- I wasn't writing this to make your company look bad I was honestly just bummed out and sharing with the members here. As I said I don't think the company had done any wrong with the livestock.

The main reasons I purchased with AquaSD was not only because you're a sponsor here, but your company has no single bad review.

Again, i'd like to say everything was packaged well and there were 2 freebies (which also suffered the fate of the Monti's) and I feel confident that the issue was through UPS and not you guys. I apologize if this sounded like I was attacking your company.

I have ordered with will at aqua sd all the time ... some come doa but will always steps up and take care of the issue.... great company to deal with and will provides great service

I've been to AquaSD many times over the past seven years. The store and Will are top notch. I work for a competitor and can tell you can buy with confidence from AquaSD.
