So I've razor blades some old coralline off but there is residual staining left behind that is making the glass hazy. I don't want to scratch the viewing panels so I'll try to clean an inconspicuous spot first.

What's do you guys use to scrub starphire glass without scratching it? Keep in mind the tank is wet. Looking for actual experiences of things that work and things that do not..
Thanks..

When the corners of my tank get coralline buildup, I just use a metal scrapper from Kent. Knock on wood, I haven't scratch my low iron panels using that method. I have scratched my panels with sand getting caught in between my magnet though

Don't have a starfire tank, but if you're using a razor already, this shouldn't be any worse: http://www.marinedepot.com/Eheim_Po..._Scrapers_Pads-Eheim-EH35022-FIMTASHH-vi.html

I first saw it at the $70 price, but once it dropped to $50 I figured I'd give it a whirl.

I was pretty skeptical at first... especially with it removing the green algae stains that I have trouble with even w/ a metal blade. After using it, however, I found it really is as easy as they show in the video. Virtually no effort and the stuff just peels off. Only problem I have with it is that it is quite large and, for me, the areas in the tank i want to get to preclude me from using the extender (read: i have to put my hand in the tank). Even then, I still have a hard time reaching some areas.

I have scratched starphire glass just using a metal scraper. I have also left indentations on the glass from the metal blade. I am really anal and after awhile only used a plastic blade. Takes a little more effort but guarantee not to scratch the glass. The Mr .clean eraser sounds like a good choice also.
