Seems like Im most likely going to go with clearview lids as
I ordered from Clearview on their website in December. Their website crashed 3 times while I was placing the order. The website charged me wrong, and did not save my customization correctly. I wrote to Clearview and let them know, they said they looked over the order and refunded be everything I was over charged.
Turnaround time was supposed to be 6 weeks.
At 8 weeks they let me know they had a broken machine and were running behind.
When I finally received my lid, it did not fit my tank, and it did not have the feed doors I had ordered. The lid was about 1/8th of an inch to wide side to side, so instead of closing flush it formed a bit of a tent shape.
I let Clearview know and sent them pictures.
They told me I was wrong, that the lid did fit; and gave me some line about how it sat 1/8" of an inch proud on all sides. They told me they could not see my picture. I resent it, the second time they thought it was to blue. So if you do have a complaint with them, make sure to have a professional photographer color grade your photos.
I told them about the feed door, and instead of trying to fix what they screwed up now on cost, time, production, and customization; they said their plans did not show the feed door. When I sent them a copy of my receipt with the feed door paid for, they told me that charge was not for the door, just cost the same as the door, and then they refunded me a portion of it. Clearview explained to me how I had been charged wrong, and when they looked over my invoice the first time after charging me wrong, that they just didn't give me all of the refund I was owed.
I ended up taking my brand new lid that did not fit my tank out to my router table and cutting 1/16th of of each sides of the center piece so the lid would close. Never cut out the extra feed lid.
So they were late, the product did not fit, they over charged, and they were pretty rude about it.
Besides that my experience with the lid is that it is not well thought out. For example the tabs that hold the lid onto the tank are only about 1/8 of an inch. They are just to small to be functional. If they would have made the tabs just a tiny bit bigger it would really improve their performance. Also the feed door, which has the same tab really should be round so it doesn't fall through the feed door hole. It is such a basic thing it really surprises me they never took the time.
If you have a router you can make your own lid with this design for probably a hundred bucks, and if you don't have a router, well IME the lid they send you won't close anyways.
