I'm using a new batch of salt mix and was making water for a water change. Things looked fine after about an hour. I left it to mix over night. Woke up in the morning and noticed that the new batch was cloudy. There's this gritty white residue on my powerhead and heater. Is it safe to use? Also, I'm using a new bin which i rinsed pretty good prior to using. Thanks.

It's just in the previous buckets I didn't have that weird white film. Overtime I would get this calcified build up in the bucket but that seemed normal.

I use Red Sea Coral Pro salt and have never had cloudy water. I know if the flow from the powerhead isn't agitating the water surface I get whitish filmy layer that builds up but goes away once I have movement. The rest of the water isn't cloudy tho. What kind of container are you using btw?

Should be okay once in the dt. I get that when I mix io, add it to the dt, slightly cloudy for a few hours, then clears up. Prolly calcium precipitate.
