Here, there and sometimes everywhere.

I figured I would start a thread about anything that may or may not have been invented in our hobby that would greatly help us achieve that 'perfect' reef. Here is my idea:

A head unit (like the Apex Neptune) that can monitor pH, Mag, Calc, and dKH all at once. This unit would be tied into a dosing station that would dose the proper amount of chemicals based off of 1) Total water volume of tank 2) Based on continuous readings from the head unit. The unit would have very little user intervention other than the monthly calibration of probes and replenishing of chemicals from the dosing station. This would help achieve an 'ionic' balance and come closer to being a reef and make our lives more simple as far as tank maintenance. Do you guys have any ideas that would help this hobby be easier to maintain?

A non invasive chemical that eradicates ich and velvet upon introduction.

A light that tells you it's par an pur readings when at certain heights, with "freaking lazer beams." also lowers and ups intensity due to season and time of day.

A stand company that makes quality stands not the garbage out there right now.

How about a dip test on fish to tell you If it is sick by turning the color of the water. Ich green, velvet purple, phail red. This ones a pipe dream.

An auto feeder that feeds frozen food, thawed with rodi.

A skimmer that only skims waste and nothing else.

A phosphate reducer that lasts forever and works forever and ever and costs 5.99$ + Tax.

A wand that lights up within inches of a piece of a equipment that is leaking stray voltage, with a meter that reads the amount of stray electricity.

Epoxy that doesn't fail. I don't know how many times I tap a coral after having it on the plug for months and down it comes.

A spray for your aquarium glass that gets it as clean as windex but is not harmful to the tank.

These ideas are all wonderful. the problem with cal, mag, and alk maintaining and dosing with a controller is the price. the price for even a probe that measures any one of those parameters is just way out of budget. my senior design project was initially to do a controller to do that but it was just way too expensive.
