okay so i picked up a 40 breeder tank/stand/sump/t5 for my wife over the weekend. the stand was a little high that came with it plus we had to tear the homemade stand apart to put it in my camry so i figured i had a pile of lumber why not build my wife the shorter stand she wants. Make the wife happy..more "go ahead bebs" for me to spend on my next tank. Not normally handy but the neighbor had a mitersaw and wife had recently bought me a drill. I basically built it based on the youtube vids going around. haven't put anything around it to look fancy yet but thought i would share.

you going to put a piece of board in the bottom of the stand help even out the weight for the sump if you going to have one.

yep definitely putting a board on the inside of the stand for the sump. waiting for access to a table saw or something like that. Skinning will be up to the wife. im thinking yes but she may just want to sew a curtain and make it as girly/decorative as possible. water wont be going in the tank right away..still considering drilling the tank..so she has a little time to decide what she wants to do.

Looks good! When I was thinking of building a stand I found similar designs on the internet. I even drew up the plans in SketchUp but ended up finding a good dual tank setup from Petco for pretty cheap.
