Have this fleshy white tenticle like appendage growing from some type of Coral. What is it?
I know post a picture. Seems like a chore. I don't like chores.
Crap! I forgot I have laundry in the dryer. Luckily it's hers and the kids. They can fold it.

Well, didn't have a chance today to upload these. In the hospital all day long with the kid. She has Pneumonia. Missed the game as well.
Our camera isn't a good one. SD450. Used it to the best of my abilities. Macro isn't that great.

In picture two you can see to the left of the main stalk about center. There is another protrusion starting to grow. So far no ill effects to main colony.

Thanks Fos. Yeah. It's a bummer. She wants to go home. But we have discovered the Incredible Hulk does exist. It happens to be my 5 year daughter. They walked in the room with a needle for an IV. WHAO! Not good. Looks like I might owe the hospital a new ell. She's doing better today though. I just came home to clean up and head back.

Clove or a Sponge? You're asking me? I was asking you.

Whatever it is doesn't seem to bother the other corals it bumps when swinging around.

Anyway. Next it's her turn to come home answer emails and clean up.

When things get normal and if you want. You can come look at it.

if it is white stringy stuff protruding from out of the corals body/ skin. it is more than likely acontia, all corals have em it is a defensive tactic sticrtly for attacking other corals or something that is irritating it. like the polyps are for feeding acontia are for destruction and will not hurt the coral but will indeed kill others. look it up on youtube, most easliy seen on anemones. i cant see clear enough on your photos but look it up
