Why does foam come out of my skimmer lid? The lid has holes at the top and within a day or two of cleaning the cup I'll have foam coming out of the top. And sometimes the foam will push the lid up off the correct resting place. Why does this happen? Should I skim more dry or wet?

Wow you must have a beast of a skimmer. My skimmer did the a lot when my tank was new. I ended up putting something on the top to weigh it down. Then after a few months it stopped and hasn't done it since. Try running it opposite of what you are doing now. So I guess a little wetter and you should be fine.

I had a skimmer do that to. I think running it drier may help. Not sure if u should go opposite but def worth making an adjustment to see if it improves

Lol, I'll get pics up. I'll go a little dryer than I do now.

I don't think it's how dirty my water is since my old Nac6 would do this and at that point I had .03 phosphates and undetectable nitrates.

and when you clean it out, how full is the collection cup?
It's been half full the last two times. Like I said, not as often as I should...

I'll start playing with the levels and see what happens.

From what you've said, sounds like you may need to skim a little wetter. Where is the bubble break in point right after you clean the skimmer?

to skim any more wet I think I need to lower the skimmer into the water more.
