Does Harliquin shrimp fight with other shrimp (cleaner, fire, and peppermint shrimp)?????

Amazing animals, I had a pair of them. They do not fight with anyone else in the tank and mind their own business. Do not keep them with wrasse as the fish will eat them, hence why I say had!

They will eat any kind of star fish and their predatory skills are amazing, drop a star in one side of the tank with them on the other and they almost instantly know. Best SF to feed them are Choc chips as they retain their shape and dont dissolve as easy as other stars. Usually took a week for a full size choc chip to be eaten by my pair.

Hey Photobret, haven't seen you for awhile, how are you doing. Question, can I put a chocolate chip in my reef? wont it eat my corals? and another thing I have a pair in a little holding, or should I say fish separate for babies, yes I said it she has eggs under her belly, and I have a small chocolate chip for food, what do I do when they hatch?????????

I would do as they said above, I just put the star close to them and watch these sleepy little shrimp go into action. I have seen them flip over a huge choc chip like its nothing. Of course the female was doing all the work too! :p
Also keep an eye on the starfish, they do keep them alive while eating them but sometimes they die and could rot in your tank, if it starts to look soft and gooey, then yank it.... normally only after a week. Happened more with other starfish but just be aware.

They really should only be kept in a species only tank in my opinion. They usually only eat chocolate chip stars since other stars move too fast and scare them. Also they're messy eaters and alot of the innards of the star ends up floating around in the tank and can irritate corals. I would recommend a 20 gallon if you wish to keep them alone and learn the rotation method with the stars
