Hello all. I'm trying to make a comeback to the hobby. I've been caring for various tanks for around 13 years now (gross, I feel old now). I want more encouragement and inspiration this time around so I'll hopefully stay more dedicated, and I think communities like this one are perfect for that!
Here is my tank and a few stats...
Hardware:
Established in 2009 (and survived one move)
Current Solana 34 Gal
Sunpod 250W Metal Halide
Hydor Koralia Pump (forget which model)
DIY 14w light in back for fuge
DIY ATO (5 gallon bucket for reservoir)
Filtration:
About 40lbs of Fiji LR
Fast growing cheato in the first chamber in back
Carbon, Purigen and Phos Ban in the second chamber
Good flow (I keep things simple)
Water:
PH 8.2
Ammonia, Nitrites - 0
Nitrates - Under 5ppm
Calcium around 450
Living things:
True Percula Clown
Purple Firefish
Bangaii Cardinal Fish
Some snails and hermits left over from my tank's past life
So I just wanted to say hi and hopefully I'll see you guys around!!
Oh ya...and I'm in Ontario, California...some starter frags either cheap or gimmies in the next month or two would be amazing!! I have always been a fan of keeping it hobbyist to hobbyist. And I promise to pay it forward once my tank gets jamming again.
Cheers,
~Darren
