This seems like an interesting contest! Good luck to all you guys who are still in the running!! Where are the rest of the pics from everyone else who's in this contest?? I've only seen a few people post their pics. Like everyone always says :worthless: I'm just sayin. A lot of room for dishonesty.HAHA totally not saying anyone is being dishonest but I think pics should be mandatory along with an update.

Quick question that came up in my head as I was reading through this thread. It may sound a little messed up but I know i'm not the only one who thinks this haha. Ok so I know this contest is "supposed" to be going off of the honor system but what if someone has those same zoas or can get access to some(they aren't any type of hard-to-get zoas btw) and frags a huge chunk off of their colony, put it on a similar frag plug (which I know the square ones are very common and everyone has),and let it grow and encrust on it so by month 3,they'll have a butt load of heads and wins! Shady I know but it's not far fetched if you think about it. :hmmmm: Maybe I just gave someone the idea to do this now hahahaha!! Dammit!

Seriously tho,I think it should be mandatory that pics are taken of the actual frag once it's in possession and required to take progress pics within specific timelines when it's time for an update. It's only fair. Everyone should be able to do this. If it's not done then they get disqualified. End of story. A camera was one of the requirements to enter anyways and taking a pic of a frag doesn't take long. There also has to be some way to make sure it's the ACTUAL original frag on the same frag plug it came on from the start. Something to distinguish it for sure.

I'm not implying anything or trying to offend anyone,it was just my thoughts on this contest and something to think about. That's all!lol! :hello:
You don't know the lengths some people would go for corals hahaha!! Something comes over them hahaha!! Good luck to all!!

I though the same thing. I am in the coral grow out contest on reef central and when we got our corals we received a sheet that had the weight and size of the plug with the frag mounted. there all mounted on the same kinda plug as well. But with zoas you could glue on a new colony with ease that would be a lot of work for something small like this.

I think this is more the honor type contest. good luck every one

this is true, but i do not think theres an official referee to enforce the picture updates, and there are no consequences for not posting. i agree that there is room for cheating, but if someones integrity is not even worth 10 bucks, then what can ya really do?

I agree with all that has been said, and have mentioned it in previous posts. I think if you haven't posted a progress pic, your out!

That said, I'll post some new pics tonight if I can. I don't think I have many more than my last pic of 10.

i agree... i understand if some cant post every week because of their busy lives, etc. thats okay. but not being able to post a pic after about 2 months is kinda pushing it. especially if they end up in the end with like 30 polyps out of nowhere lol

Also agree with all, I so far have only posted my original colony pic.....but only because I don't really have progress to show :boring: But I'll be sure to post one shortly. I do think it'd be pretty apparent if a diff colony were to replace the original, but you never know. Hopefully it's not something we have to be concerned with here.
